And he'll expense it.
02.11.2025 01:38 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Seconded. Of all the music lumped into the shoegaze genre, Against Perfection is my fav by a longshot.
31.10.2025 19:57 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's pretty much what I yelled at the TV, and the dog jumped off the couch and disappeared.
30.10.2025 00:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Similar experience: John Otway at the Rivoli in Toronto. There was a guy in the crowd with an oxygen tank. I doubt there was anyone there under 40, but it was a blast.
FWIW, saw Killing Joke at Larry's Hideaway, a long-gone dump in Toronto. The show was released on a 10" record. Great live band.

11.10.2025 00:25 β π 68 π 10 π¬ 1 π 2Guilty. Fortunately, the one time I did this at a Toronto Records on Wheels store, the clerk managed to identify Joan Osborne's "One of Us" before I croaked out half a line.
17.08.2025 18:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Anybody else find themselves humming the Velvets' "I'm Waiting for the Man" after they've called a contractor or repair person? Specifically the "He's never early, he's always late / First thing you learn is that you always gotta wait" part?
14.08.2025 20:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Darnielle's book in the 33 1/3 series about Black Sabbath's Master of Reality is a great read.
25.07.2025 22:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cut a plug out of a whole watermelon, drain it, then refill the juice with tequila. Put the plug back in and let it sit for an hour. Butcher and eat.

02.05.2025 23:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yep. "If Liberals donβt like petty score-settling, they should try behaving some other way." Right. Remember sunny ways? That got us a minor industry producing F*ck Trudeau flags and bumper stickers.

28.04.2025 23:31 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sign that maybe it's time to give up running: being overtaken by a guy pushing a baby stroller.

10.03.2025 21:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My father got one. He died in March of last year. It's absurd. Over 100,000 people die in Ontario every year. I wonder how many got cheques.
13.02.2025 16:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yesterday, my father received his $200 from Doug Ford. My father died last March. Mistake, right? Nope. It's on the Ontario gov't website: We're sending cheques to dead people. How absurd. Imagine what we could do collectively with the $3-billion they're blowing on this shameless vote-buying scheme.

One of the small joys of borrowing a library book is finding something stuck insideβa weird grocery list, or a bookmark from another place, for example. In this case, I hope the parents or grandparents of this child have another copy of their picture. (I put it back in the book when I returned it.)
31.01.2025 19:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And I was thinking of watching Eraserhead on Kanopy instead the inauguration. It would be more cheering.
