Pretty much every team in football should be building borderline-irresponsible trade offers for Micah Parsons, and the Cowboys probably shouldn't take any of them. ...I may also have one or two other suggestions for how the Cowboys should've handled this.

It's not exactly how you want to allocate $11 million, sure, but I think the process from the Chiefs' front office was very good. Moore set the floor, then Simmons was there at 32, then we found out that his knee is actually made of Flubber and he's just ready to go.

If Jaylon Moore ends up starting the year as an overqualified sixth lineman, that's great news.
Simmons and Kingsley looking like long-term answers is the best-case scenario. Guys get hurt. Moore could fill in at G/T in '25 and start at RT in '26.

This is how I'm watching Josh Simmons clips. It's training camp! We're crowning him too early! We don't know what they're working on in one-on-one drills! They've barely put on the pads! Slow down the hype train!

If he looks shaky for any reason, they have options (which they didn't have last year). Plus, all three of the top tackles have had injury issues of some sort -- I assume all three will need to play eventually. Good problems.

Simmons getting the first crack at LT is about as big of a Day 1 training camp story as you can have. If he looks good at LT early on, I don't think Taylor's return automatically bumps him out.

I do, and 26/27 are his biggest paydays. IMO, something would have to go terribly wrong for either him to walk or the Chiefs to cut him ($19.5M dead/$18.6M savings) by then. 2028, who knows.

Bolton, Butker and Gray are under contract for '27, but with low dead money/high cap savings. Even after getting big extensions, the guarantees are short.

With the recent Chiefs extensions in mind, it's wild to revisit how much roster churn there is in the NFL. In 2027, the only Chiefs who are almost certainly going to be on the team are Mahomes, Jones, Smith, Humphrey, Karlaftis and most 2024/25 draft picks.
