And yes, if something happens to a loved one back home, I want to know. But knowing at 2am vs 7am isn't going to make much of a difference...and I'll be well rested and in sound mind.

I understand it's a different time and we are used to being notified instantly about all matters. But part of me is like "for all but the last 20ish years of human history, we were not all instantly connected. And it was fine"
