!!! Theyβre gorgeous! Iβve seen that little head before in another Syon ms I think, that must be 262/1? And of course that image of Christ is spectacular and that must be another leaf of the book that has the miniature of the monks in? So much to see ππ

I would love this - perhaps a workshop? The Syon manuscripts at Exeter are top of my must-visit list at the moment, the finding aids are so useful!

A pleasure to write this paper, which stemmed from the excellent panel at @newchaucersociety.bsky.social 2022 - if you like to think about why we do what we do with 'big' manuscript data, the whole collection is worth your time!

A burnt book, lying on a foam support. The edges are black like charcoal and the leather is so burnt it is separating from the top board.
I feel like I ought to do more than just wave hi (hi!) to everyone whoβs been here for ages, so instead, please enjoy the most recent photo I took of an interesting thing I found at work - one of the remaining books damaged by a 1940 incendiary bomb (itβs crispy!)
