I prosecute and defend the most serious sexual offences in our courts.
The overwhelming majority of offenders are British-born. Overwhelmingly the victim is someone known to them, either a partner or relative.
Anybody purporting to care about protecting women might start there.
Absolutely true, despite the great work organisations like @creativeaccess.bsky.social & @artsemergency.bsky.social do, cronyism, nepotism and not only unpaid but poorly paid jobs in the arts combine to suppress any meaningful change.

Are Private Eye jokes now... criminal?
PALESTINE Solidarity campaigner Jon Farley was arrested during a silent march in Leeds last weekend. What egregious act had prompted the police to act? He was, er, carrying a Private Eye joke piece as a placard!

Statement from Migrant Voice saying: We strongly condemn the anti-migrant violence which has erupted in Ballymena. This is reminiscent of the far-right riots we saw sweep across the UK last year, and shows the harm caused by hostile and divisive political, and media, rhetoric against migrants. We recognise the βsparkβ which has led to this, however the actions of individuals must never be used as an excuse to target communities. This anti-migrant violence is not a response to a hideous attack, it is the outcome of the division which has been spread through communities. Actions affect whole communities, migrants and locals alike. When something happens it should be a time for unity and compassion, a time to support one another, not a time to attack innocent people and leave them in fear because of where they were born.
There is no justification for violence against migrants. Violent attacks and riots are the inevitable outcome of the hostile and divisive rhetoric used against migrants by politicians and elements of the media.
At a time when communities should be supporting each other they are being ripped apart.
Reminder that I AM LATINA AND PROUD. I am the product of immigration - my grandmother was undocumented and entered the country from Mexico as a baby. My mother was a fierce, gorgeous Latina woman of Mexican and Spanish descent.

Lots of things I like about freelancing, but having to explain that I donβt get a paycheque every month and therefore canβt do things for free is not one of them.
Freelancers have no sick leave, no paid holidays and no benefits, and if we do something for free it means less time to earn in.
