It was hard to watch Jared Leto in Tron Ares, with his slicked back long hair, without also thinking of the Wet Hair Guy from the Phillies.

I’m actually shocked my son said Ares was better than Legacy because he LOVES Daft Punk and that scene was the highlight for him

The main thing about Tron is that you want to see the characters doing battle in the grid. That’s why doing things like going to a bar in LEGACY and visiting the actual real world in ARES don’t work. Respect the grid!

My son is *so hyped* for TRON ARES. We are 7 minutes away from seeing it in imax so stay tuned for the reaction… wish us luck.

I think if we kept the definitions too strict, then these songs would be disqualified in any capacity - an EP is not an album either. That seems unfair. Also, unless you bought the EPs on vinyl, 13 Songs has always been the only way to hear these songs.

Chapelle will absolutely make a Netflix special about this, and he will make a boatload of cash from it and will be nominated for an Emmy.

I’ll never forget walking through an endless IKEA while Seeds of Love played, maybe 20 years ago, realizing for the first time how many changes this song goes through as I meandered from one showroom to the next.

I told someone yesterday my son was looking forward to seeing Tron Ares and they though my I was talking about some Italian film, “Tronares” - thought my 11yo son was very sophisticated for a minute there. (It is fun to say with an Italian accent)

I only process the MLB through the prism of who is playing the Dodgers. So lots of teams I know nothing about. Anyway, damn, the Blue Jays! Making the Yankees look like clowns.

Yesterday’s Wine, the song, is a classic Willie track of the early 70s imo. The album was an early stab at making a concept album before he really perfected it with Phases and Stages and Red Headed Stranger a few years later. Lots of Christian themes which this atheist can only appreciate so much.

The Willie and Waylon albums are both right on the edge of desirability for me, but the price was right. I have ~15 Waylon albums on my wishlist though only 4 do I *really* want. This wasn’t one of those 4 but I’ll listen to it tonight to remind myself what I like from it.

Since I’ve begun rebuilding my collection (sold a lot of it off years ago), REM has been the first thing I check for in any shop. Usually they’re out, or the price is just a little too high for me. Fables for $25 feels like a score. (All I have now is this and Chronic Town, so… 14 to go)

It’s felt like an eternity since my last record shop visit. Atomic Records in Burbank yielded three for me today.
