As @subflyer.bsky.social says once you sign for the aircraft, as Captain, anything that happen is your problem and there needs to be a chain of command. I always tried to make it a team effort with the proviso it was my legal responsibility

In the UK we have the same issue with class G, some ILS's are in class G and folks fly straight through them without think about what might be doing an instrument approach

They have 2 issues, Musk's public person and the insurance industry is writing off vehicles after only minor accidents because getting spare is expensive with long delays
