Take a Ride on New York City’s Future Train Line The Interborough Express, a new rail line that would link Brooklyn and Queens, could change the face of the city.

This is a very cool feature about a very cool transit project! www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Power loss at W.4th St has caused major subway outages.

But MTA does not post updates here.

So help spread the word on service status:

Why I’m Banning Student AI Use This Year Chanea Bond will ban AI this year to give her high school English students the opportunity to develop foundational skills that she believes the tech can hinder.

Teacher @heymrsbond.com banned AI in her English classes last year. We’re about to post an update on how it wentβ€”so first, read last year’s article to understand why she adopted the policy. πŸ’»

it is real weird how Zohran Mamdani is constantly asked about antisemitism but none of the other NYC mayoral candidates are relentlessly asked about how they will deal with ongoing Islamophobia and hate crimes against Asian Americans

I wish this piece was on the front page and not the opinion section, because it's more fact-based than the majority of the reporting I've seen on the state of boys and men.

Fenway Park is an iconic American institution, and it’s the workers there that make every Red Sox game special.

The team is extremely profitable. They should treat their employees with respect, pay them decent wages and negotiate a fair contract with the union.

Columbia adopts controversial definition of antisemitism amid federal grants freeze University announces move as it tries to restore $400m in funds frozen over alleged failure to protect Jewish students

More and more people are calling the Israeli genocide of Palestinians what it is -- genocide, by Israel.

But in the academy, we're being steamrolled by a machinery operating according to its own logic.

My ill wishes to everyone responsible for this oppression:

When the Supreme Court struck down Biden's student loan program, not a single conservative justice uttered a WORD about the (unreasoned) universal injunction that the lower court imposed to halt the policy nationwide. Makes you think.

Since April 4, #SCOTUS has issued 15 rulings on 17 emergency applications filed by Trump (three birthright citizenship apps were consolidated).

It has granted relief to Trump ... in all 15 rulings.

It has written majority opinions in only 3.

Today's order is the 7th with no explanation *at all.*

Lifting the District Court’s injunction will unleash
untold harm, delaying or denying educational opportunities
and leaving students to suffer from discrimination, sexual
assault, and other civil rights violations without the federal
resources Congress intended. The majority apparently
deems it more important to free the Government from paying employees it had no right to fire than to avert these very
real harms while the litigation continues. Equity does not
support such an inequitable result.

The President must take care that the laws are faithfully
executed, not set out to dismantle them. That basic rule
undergirds our Constitution’s separation of powers. Yet today, the majority rewards clear defiance of that core principle with emergency relief. Because I cannot condone such
abuse of our equitable authority, I respectfully dissent.

He mostly seems like a traditional Democrat. He’s for workers and housing and fairness and believes there’s a role for government to protect the public interest. That’s just a Democrat.
Some of these other democrats are selfishly worried about their own turf, status, and ego.

So, let me get this straight--it's "holy" for parents to ask the government to protect their kids from books with LGBTQ+ characters, but it's "evil" for parents to ask the government why it didn't do more to keep their kids from drowning in a flood.

Yup. And I’ve written before about how after the Klan took power in Colorado in the 1920s, they tried to dismantle the entire public health system in the state. The idea was that they would rebuild each org with Klan members in charge and with a klan mission.
