Yep. They obviously don’t need to β€˜invoke the Insurrection Act’ to do heinous and corrupt shit. They already are.

The only thing it does is provide a thin veneer of legitimacy to his actions for the willfully blind.

Please remind all of your colleagues: if we ever return to some semblance of democracy and true law, the actions they are allowing to continue will bankrupt the US through the lawsuits. The ICE 4th amendment violations alone should do it. Let alone the 1st amendment violations.

Good gods. It’s already hard to get justice! One of those contractor types finally lost a lawsuit December of 2024 for their support of the torture of US prisoners in the post 9/11 war on terror. Took 15 years! But at least it was $42 million.

Here’s the issue though.

Regular law enforcement is bad enough. They know our rights and violate them because of limited accountability.

ICE doesn’t really know (especially landmark court precedent e.g. Graham v Connor) and doesn’t care about our rights. They are thugs who enjoy others’ pain

In general, the police have no duty to protect people. That said, there is something under section 1983 (part of civil right act). There’s a duty to intervene People need to start filing lawsuits against local police under section 1983 - failure to intervene. Here’s a snip from SCOTUS Yang v. Hardin
