You could have made a fortune betting on an American pope
Prediction markets never saw it coming.
Cardinal Robert Prevost's odds to be selected as the next pope were never more than 1% to 2% in the lead-up to the conclave. www.axios.com/2025/05/08/r...

Tesla's earnings call had a much different vibe than usual.
The company clearly recognizes it's got a problem. They think it's short-term. We'll see.
One thing to keep in mind: The Tesla backlash wasn't in full swing in Q1's first half. So we may see ugly numbers in Q2.

In a Jefferson-and-Adams-died-on-the-same-day sort of coincidence, Albertsons just announced the retirement of its CEO ... on the same day Kroger announced the sudden exit of its CEO.
Comes a few months after their merger died.

FWIW, I'm not surprised the Academy didn't award "The Wild Robot" the Oscar. Asking Academy members who are concerned about AI to embrace a film that asks you to sympathize with a robot ... wasn't great timing.

But 2.1% chances happen all the time ... i.e. the Eagles leading the Chiefs by 34 in the Super Bowl!

While Nissan obviously wants to get fair terms, the company is not negotiating from a position of strength here. By all accounts, Honda would be practically doing them a favor by making this deal.
