How to find music you will love without the algorithm To find music you will love, stop letting the algorithm take the reins and start listening with intention.

I'm pro-intentional music exploration! My process in school was look at global charts, artists' reccos, check the albums released in x year wiki, and follow blogs (s/o @ JonAliOfficial). Those finds hit harder when you've put the work into discovery. @theverge.com

There should be protected bike lanes around all schools and universities across our towns and cities. Watching all these kids try to get to and from school without them is scary.

I know we have yet to see all policies, heck the campaign period hasn't technically begun, but I don't feel like any of the policies released from Labour so far acknowledge the dire situation facing NZ. It's giving business as usual bland realness. #nzpol

Zohran's approach: being real, honest, and treating voters like adults and, more importantly, the way it's landing, are proof of the possibility I've always known. Like decisions in COVID to provide financial relief or close borders, govt can do anything if it tries #nzpol

If I could change one thing about political reporting in New Zealand it would be the reflex to treat policy criticism from the political opposition as not only meaningful but the most important thing.

β€˜Getting ridiculous’: Councillor slams ticketing delays A Wellington regional councillor says 17 years is too long to wait for national ticketing, as NZTA delays the city’s rollout to 2027.

Totally with @yadana.bsky.social here. Cities like Sydney have been doing integrated ticketing for over a decade. Also Cable Car retired Snapper in expectation of the 2026 rollout. Another embarrassing example of NZ failing at simple infrastructure.

Buying them back feels like the most logical move to bring prices down quickly and move ahead with shovels in the ground. We already have enough consented projects in the pipeline, they need to actually begin and be delivered. Power companies will never move fast enough in that regard. #nzpol

Auckland needs more places to sit, and come together peacefully. We need more parks like Albert where you can enjoy the weather, watch the world pass by, catch up with friends. Replacing ports of Auckland with a native forest park and ocean pools needs to happen asap. #nzpol

New Zealand couldn't even do the conditional recognition of Palestine like our colonisers did. I don't know who this position is in service of, but it's not the Palestinian people or in righting the wrongs of our colonial past. Ready to march. #nzpol

Auckland split on future of housing density Auckland Councillors will today vote on whether to keep a housing density plan, which allows for three-storey residential buildings to be put up anywhere in the city. Victor Waters reports.

This RNZ piece on the future of Auckland housing density not featuring anyone under 40. We need to be designing for all, not just boomers wedded to their character houses. Sorry to all the YIMBY boomers but sort your lot out. #nzpol
