Yeah, and iirc it isn't as simple as just 'broadcast to all' on that node, the algos (Google, FB etc) already know who your friends & family are because we tell them, so it's quite detailed/targeted.
Also we (unwittingly) give many apps permission to take screnshots, so that's another data point...

Unfortunately, I think you might be at the mercy of the buyer in this case - if they're sound they'll pay for it or return it, if they're a shifty twat you could be out of pocket but try making it Ebay's problem to intervene on your behalf or try to get them to pay the refund due to lack of emails.
