Usually thinking about music & vinyl, often when I should be doing something else. I try and post a #TOTD using the 'random item' option on my #discogs #vinyl collection.

Yeah, I would bet good money that's part of their calculation. Like, I'm in Dorset but I've seen loads of the TFL ads because ppl keep posting them in annoyance. And while it serves as a reminder to me to continue not buying his products, I'm sure they'll be seen by as many ppl who will buy them.

05.12.2025 12:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I looked up a few of them on Companies House a few years ago (because I probably had an important work deadline that I was avoiding and I HAD to win an argument). iirc SWP, LMHR and possibly SUTR and some other affiliates are listed.

'Sail We Must', is inspired by a story from back in the summer of 2008 in rural county Cork, on the wild edge of the Atlantic, when a lone fisherman, Gerard Sheehy, met a weary Andrew Weatherall on his way to a gig. They soon began to exchange stories, namely tales of the sea. During their conversation the seafarer shared a sentiment that would stay with Andrew forever, 'Fail We May, Sail We Must'.
Sources say he's 5 minutes into regaling the disinterested staff with the Weatherall origin story of the name and shows no sign of letting up...

Being Irish, I probably say the word closer to riddim because of the way we also pronounce the th sound.
I write riddim when making notes on 7" sleeves because I often check the details on sites like The Riddim Guide or The Riddim Databse, as it feels like its own distinct thing.
I have utmost respect for DJs who can do broad appeal. I did my first digi set last year for a mate's birthday and it was only a 20 yr age spread from late 30s to late 50s, and even that was difficult enough as they weren't all clubbers.

14.11.2025 15:29 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I got a full refund for the return leg coming back from Bristol last week. Fine on GWR to Southampton, then SWR was a shit show. Numerous delays, then they just cancelled the service at BMTH. SWR west of Southampton (or maybe even Basingstoke) is such a lottery. Everybody should use Delay Repay.

11.11.2025 14:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Made in early 1995 and played by Jeff Mills during the Live At Liquid Room Mix, this is a 14" diameter, one-sided copper reference disc. This disc contains a few unreleased tracks, but one particular (#2), which had no title then, but we now know it as "The Bells". Because the material is copper, the overall level response is 1 1/2 times louder than of a regular vinyl record. In essence, it's a beast! See this and many more special releases from 1995 during the Jeff Mills Live At Liquid Room Anniversary Tour 2025/2026.
Did you spot this?
