This is where Columbia, Brown, Penn have gotten us. If this isn't stopped, it's just one institution after another paying tributes to the crown. Either it stops or we're done for and the "we" isn't just higher ed, it's everybody.

Universities tend to have strict branding guidelines, including with respect to colors. I suspect that Columbia Blue would have been the appropriate color to use for official communications.

Beside the point, but Real IDs are indeed not proof of citizenship. They *are* proof of legal residence, but you can be a non-citizen and get them (I have one as a green card holder, for instance).
