One of my favorite things in the Spring here is how many teen girls and their families do Quinceañera photo shoots w the big gorgeous gowns in the botanical gardens by campus. It’s wonderful.

Was trying to figure out whether I could pull a good CAMWS abstract together by Monday. Then realized last Spring I did the weekly writing assignments alongside my grad seminar & had several CAMWS-able ideas right there with a rough structure and major argument/evidence. Past Lauren deserves a hug.

I am thrilled to share that my article, “Hoc Saxsum: History as Conversation inside the Tomb of the Scipios” is now available on the Journal of Roman Studies website via FirstView. (It’s also open access!)

This is really interesting. I can’t remember a network doing this since Columbine when several pulled episodes including Buffy TVS which pulled Earshot the week or Columbine and never aired it on TV and then delayed the S3 finale because of violence in a library. Because Columbine was so shocking.

I had an online research class my 1st year of high school. Search engines were still new (Google didn’t dominate yet), so we were taught how they worked, their differences, how to evaluate results that came up, & the trustworthiness of different kinds of websites.

We should still do this—and more.
