The 29% who think that Evangelical Christian Americans are "more loyal to a foreign country that to the United States" is hurting my brain

What foreign country would they even be loyal to?

I'm pretty sure we have planes in Canada. You are never more than like 24hours away from tokyo

There is probably some sample size issues. This entirely confirms my biases though so I'm only going to kinda question it

I actually don't think there are any words you can put into the sentence "Russia would never attack _____" and have it be accurate

Why is the picture Bloomberg chose a BYD? Anyways if Mark Carney doesnโ€™t do this (and let me buy a Dacia Spring) Iโ€™m probably still going to vote for him but Iโ€™ll be mad about it

The good news is with everyone (including me so) driving massive pickup trucks and SUVs we can just stop paving them soon /s

There are low income tax subsidies that would keep you in your house and allow for the cap to be lifted

The main winners of the current system are not low income people but instead wealthy people who get to pay lower taxes on there 1.5 million dollar house

this is baffling. Itโ€™s Anti-Semitic in a pretty standard way but racist against south asians in a way i have never seen before

i read this as him calling South Asias โ€œbankers, etcโ€ which is just not a racism Iโ€™ve heard of

Iโ€™ll go to the NSLC (Nova Scotiaโ€˜s liquor and cannabis monopoly) and see if they have any Tennessee liquor left. Plus all profits from America liquor sales go to the local food banks

If the NYT turnout guess is correct itโ€™s like 160,000 votes total which is similar to the 22 turnout of 180,000 so not some low turnout weird either

Let's say I make students write a pair of essays on both sides on an controversial issue as an exercise

It wouldn't be engaging in viewpoint discrimination but this would seem to violate the right against compelled speech?

Under this theory could the assignment be "write what you think. Your choices on what to think are the following x, y, z etc" then is that allowed under this theory?

Also the appeal to the opinion of doctors on this issue is going to make me lose my mind

There exists data (or at least should) in this world that can help us actually understand what is happening. Anecdotal data from people who have zero expertise in transportation is not useful

What would your opinion be on a policy that explicitly tied expanded pipeline capacity to limiting reexport out of the US ?

It feels like it could get more political buy in if it was explicitly sold (at least in part) as shifting oil exports not purely expanding them.

Lime, Bird scooters and e-bikes returning to Edmonton streets year-round - Edmonton | Globalnews.ca The City of Edmonton has signed three-year agreements with electric scooter and bike companies Lime and Bird, allowing them to operate year-round if the weather permits.

In Edmonton they are available year round "if the weather permits" I'm not sure about here though. I can't find a source for if they are year round or not. I haven't seen any in the last week(ish) that I remember but I might just not have notices

No to all Caesars!!

The habit of naming government positions after the title of eastern European monarchs named, after the title of Roman emperors named after Julius Caesar is very strange to me

Okay, but that would be an improvement imo.

I can respect legitimate crazy in a way that this type of laziness doesn't deserve

(This is deeply not the point but) A follower of Henry George should clearly support a levy on water usage and then letting the chips fall where they may (doing nothing but making industrial agriculture slightly more water efficient).

Better to just leave quietly imo. On some level I basically reject the idea that people should expect a response from you on a micro blogging platform

Brutalism (like most things) has good and bad examples. Although I do think it has a lower batting average then mosts architectural styles

Although my least favourite building is the library on the campus I go to university at. Why make it a concrete monolith?

Also (and I know this isn't the main point) but "Surrounding Venezuela" is rather imprecise. Does the airport in Cรบcuta, Colombia need to close for example?
