To get that drawing done I busted out the drawing tablet that I got for my wife years ago when she was still my gf. I need to practice drawing with this some more, I have a lot planned for this journal

I'm not sure if I still want to do a seamless open world for DYLIH, I might do a segmented world akin to Postal 2 instead. I'm just one guy and it'll make optimizing much easier

First step is adding a motel for the NPCs to sleep in until the suburbs are added. After that, I'll work on adding in jobs for the NPCs to make money and perform tasks (like shopkeeping or policing). They won't all be able to have jobs rn tho so unemployment may be an issue :(

My goal for the first demo release is to get the NPCS and world to a functional and autonomous state. Nail down the life sim aspects of the game before start going into the RPG side of things and really build out the world in my head

The new Fable game looks interesting. I've never played any of the games but if it wasn't clear enough I have a fascination with simulated worlds, I might try them out sometime

Done with optimizing for now, the performance still isn't amazing but it's much better. I may get back to it eventually but honestly I've kinda accepted the game won't run perfect at times. Now I can start working on the interesting stuff again

The biggest bottleneck in the game right now is by far the animations, been working on optimizing them and adding LODs. Once this is done I'll be able to get back to actually expanding the game
