My Friday the 13th full-saga rewatch has revealed the fact that almost the entire series is a bunch of three-star horror movies that I enjoy watching. (Not you, Jason Goes to Hell.)

I don't think the plot of Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die fully hangs together, but the movie both eviscerates the current tech-obsessed state of humanity AND maybe makes Haley Lu Richardson a star. On those counts alone: πŸ‘

Tough to decide which of these I’d rather go to if forced to choose, because IV is easily my favorite of these four movies but III is easily my least favorite. The 3D for III honestly might be the deciding factor.

I had a dream last night that Martin McDonagh released a new movie, and in the last scene Colin Farrell turned into an anthropomorphic goat and gave a big, heartfelt soliloquy. I wrote a review of it with the headline "In Martin McDonagh's Latest, the Devil Retakes the Lead."

Okay, you gotta admit, that Mandalorian and Grogu commercial was pretty clever.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Turns β€˜Wonder Man’ Into Marvel’s Most Personal Project Ever Yahya Abdul-Mateen II on Marvel’s β€˜Wonder Man,’ acting nerves, and his new superpower: turning his phone off and living his life.

I profiled Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's return to the superhero genre with #WonderMan, how he's learned to push past his own acting nerves, why his current definition of success means turning off his phone and walking his new dog, and more:

production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like β€œratings” or β€œrevenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA

Statler and Waldorf finally have had enough and leave the theater. Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones take their seats.

The Muppet Show pilot/one-off/special is excellent, and Disney should greenlight 50 more episodes immediately.

they should make a movie series about how it’s irresponsible to use technology to mess with the natural order of things for profit

😭

A Mighty Wind is my favorite of the Christopher Guest mockumentary run. And, as was always the case, Catherine O'Hara is just incredible in it.

I can see that a movie fight I'm going to be having all year is me arguing that Doctor Strange 2 is a much more effective and fun and positively Raimi-esque Sam Raimi movie than Send Help is. (Which is the downright truth, sorry.)

Tom Hiddleston Isn’t Playing It Safe Anymore β€” and β€˜The Night Manager’s Return Proves It After Loki and a decade of life, Tom Hiddleston explains why The Night Manager Season 2 had to go deeper for the Prime Video series.

I profiled Tom Hiddleston in his return to #TheNightManager after 10 years, why he wanted to push both himself and Jonathan Pine to the edge in Season 2, the "gift" of playing through Episode 5's most gripping two-hander (spoilers within), chasing story over genre in his career, and more:

A β˜…β˜…β˜… review of Send Help (2026) Fun little thriller bolstered by Sam Raimi's distinctive visual style. The "boar hunt" sequence rips. Rachel McAdams is quite good, although I honestly don't think the movie ever fully locks into her ...

Some brief thoughts on the new Raimi ...
