Si no hay incentivos para la vida nocturna, si no hay transporte público después de las 10pm ni negocios abiertos después de esa hora, si no hay gente en la calle más allá de quienes viven ahí y necesitan asaltar para poder comer, la infraestructura e iluminación no van a ser suficientes

Mejorar infraestructura peatonal en una ciudad no es suficiente para hacerla caminable, especialmente de noche

Ayer salí a un concierto en San José. Luego quise ir a comer con un amigo. Fuimos al Acapulco. Estaba cerrado. Bajamos a Wongs. Estaba cerrado.

De vuelta al parqueo nos intentaron asaltar 2 veces. En el boulevard nuevo, aún con las cámaras e iluminación nuevas

Última cosa importante, este año los países tienen que renovar sus compromisos climáticos (NDCs) y los de transporte ahorita también se están revisando. El poner cosas en las NDC ayuda a apalancar apoyo y plata internacional para desarrollar esos planes, entonces esa revisión también está pasando

Falta complementar eso con mil cosas más pero por lo menos siento que las conversaciones dentro de las instituciones están a un nivel que no existía hace 10 años o 5 años. Más allá de la urgencia, siento que la gente entiende mejor cómo cambiar las cosas y está empujando desde adentro para lograrlo

También he estado hablando con gente de Munis que está trabajando para ver si se logra que las Munis se puedan meter más en el tema de transporte público. Esto también siento que podría ser un mega game changer si se maneja bien 🤞🏼
