(6) …yeah! As if I wasn’t 100% in-the-bag for a comic whose pitch is “Frazetta-ass Wonder Woman…FROM HELL!!!” but the artwork is truly something special, it’s the freshest the character’s felt on the page in ages and thus the highlight of DC’s Absolute experiment, I reckon!

(5) solid meat-&-potatoes adventure pulp, just like the doctor ordered! Cracklin’ back-and-forth dialogue, economic prose; my kind of “warm bath” book.

(4) my only gripe—and it’s a tiny gripe!—is that 90% of it is Rolling Stone/Almost Famous stories and kinda papers over the rest of his work. Otherwise? More than just playing the hits, emphasizing why the hits resonate at all, more like. Naturally, I adored it!

(3) there’s some stuff here that’s quack-ish at best and retrograde/TERF-y at worst but overall there’s some real fascinating mythological history that undoubtedly reverberates throughout culture (I’m sure James Cameron and George Miller had this on the brain at some point)

(2) reads like a fractured mosaic travelogue hybrid of Kerouac and Ballard; a unique flavor of pitch-black human darkness

(1) Every time ya think it’s a little long in the tooth or starting to wear out its welcome, he hits you with a line so wonderfully, disgustingly guffaw-inducing that it regains momentum. Hilarious front-to-back; best thing Waters has done since the ’90s!

The cover shows Miss Cosmek in space, standing on a small, round asteroid. Behind her is the moon with a profile of the Spirit’s face on it. The title “The Spirit by Will Eisner” is over the dark side of the moon.

Computers cannot create art because they cannot consider what it means to be aware. They aren’t aware in the first place.

A computer doesn’t know the thrill of breaking a rule for the first time or the shame of getting caught. It doesn’t feel anything. It doesn’t feel (and can’t be) responsible.

Yeah…but also Night Time, My Time is a wall-to-wall perfect album, one of the best of its decade and because of that deserves more than to be stuck in Tumblr’s grubby mitts.

It's so funny how many people have had their brains pickled by X and Fox News and can't believe that SF remains one of the most amazing cities in the world.

It’s cool that we have to endure this indignity because the press finds it entertaining and voters are morons

In this five-panel strip, Flash and Dale Arden are lost in the jungle when Flash gets entangled in a strangler vine. Dale retrieves Flash’s gun to save him but gets too close to the plant and is caught as well. Fortunately, a bolt of lightning hits the tree and frees them both.

I know it’s been said a million times but it’s pretty funny how many short king steroid comedians with corny ass manchild tattoos called themselves free speech warriors right up until the moment free speech was actually under attack.

Barack Obama has like the third largest platform of anyone on earth and he’s using it to tell us to listen to a podcast by Ezra Klein, who has famously been one of the most embarrassingly wrong pundits of the second Trump term.
