Did you know that the first Beer & Cider Festival in Chorlton was held 20 years ago - way back in 2005.

We're really looking forward to welcoming back some of the breweries and even some of the beers that we poured back when 2Pac was top of the charts and Batman Begins was the movie to see.

I'd hope you won't be asked to judge as you are publically stating you couldn't be impartial.

I've got no idea how the select the final judges but CAMRA loves a lengthy contract so wouldn't be at all surprised if the judges had to sign declarations.

There's always been a knowledge of the finalists for anybody who could be bothered to trawl and find the results of the regional rounds. And the winter category finalists have always been known six months before.

So what if individual judges might recognise individual beers? There's 24 judges scoring against different characteristics and (I'd assume) over three panels ("semi final" and final). The winner is the one that comes out top across all the judges (not just tone that can't manage to be impartial).

Come sling some EKF with me, Adam and Vic. Or pump some cask with other equally lovely people.....
