Indeed, an excellent film. I need to re-watch soon! Morris was brought in to recreate her hit Broadway performance and as far as I know this is the only movie she ever made.

I’m thrilled to see all the politically like-minded souls here on blue sky, but I need more art, more literature, and a lot more jazz and film! If there’s anyone I should be following, please let me know!

Making sense of the Lupino-Bogart feud The 1941 Warner Brothers film *High Sierra* was a landmark in the careers of its stars, Ida Lupino and Humphrey Bogartβ€”marking a transition from years of frustration to full-fledged stardom for both. ...

Both Ida Lupino and Humphrey Bogart were promoted to stardom by Warner Bros. immediately before working together in β€œHigh Sierra” (1941).

Many rumors suggest they did not get along. Other stories say they were very close. What’s the story here?

Remembering Ida Lupino here w/her β€œgodfather” in 1933’s pre-code comedy I Lived with You.
Movie based on Novello’s stage play of the same name. He had the entire stage cast in the film, but replaced the younger daughter character w/ Ida. It was her 4th movie, she was 15, a very mature 15!

Touching example of how (most) great actors are *generous.* Plus you get to hear Ida’s late-life off-the-set voice which I find very elegant and beautiful and real.
