This is how I suspect a lot of the recissions/impounding will be resolved; They'll kick the can to the next congress by saying congress has to be a party to any challenge, then they'll delay that ruling as long as possible, then say "Well, those fiscal years are over so we can't force spending now"

I suspect there will be some major rulings against Trump, and they will be carefully delayed and timed to come out sometime around December of 2028. A lot of sound and fury about how dare he, coupled with "Whoops, too late for a remedy, well, presidents definitely can't do this going forward."

Also worth nothing that a major arrow in the Supreme Court's quiver is docket chicanery; overturning lower courts on the shadow docket and slow-walking decisions (that might ultimately be negative) for Trump to let him have his fun, swift cert and denial for Biden.

Is it just low info voters encountering stories about cat boxes in public schools? Is it something where "I didn't think much about it before but now that I've learned more I'm for them?" Is it social media? If so, how much is push and how much pull?

It's kind of a shame that people are bad at recalling past mental states in polling, even regarding empirical actions (misrecalled/mistated votes, e.g.), because I'd genuinely be interested in anti-bathroom-bill-to-pro-bathroom-bill flippers. What happened over 10 years to change their minds?

Adam’s right. It’s more important than ever that our institutions defend First Amendment rights, and that means not firing teachers illegally whether their offense was “Go ICE” or saying something less than hagiographical about Charlie Kirk. Fewer people want to hear that in ugly times.
