It’s mad, and I dare say will result in a lot of preventable postop pain, while doing nothing to address the underlying issues of *why* fentanyl is a problem for them.

Decade old minor indiscretion *that she had told him about when she became the shadow SoS*.

And so #BlueLabour denied us an SoS who actually had a plan for transport.

You probably want to keep it that way as Marmite is an abomination.

Bovril and Marmite used to come in similar oval jars.

Changing the criteria for benefits of transport schemes to reduce this effect was one of Louise Haigh’s intended plans. I assume that got binned off too? #Motornormativity

TfGMβ€˜s Head of Strategic Planning has confirmed to me the surprisingly defined line of a High Lane and Disley bypass will be updated to a vague arrow in their final Transport Plan Draft.

Consultation - and the fight against such ridiculously counterproductive roadbuilding plans - now begins Monday.

I wonder if it works on alfy/remi?

This does feel a lot like the wrong solution, however.

In Newcastle the actual Cabinet Member who could have delivered these, once told me the reason they didn't have a bike was the last one was stolen, and they lived in a flat 🀷.

Manchester pedals forward with a groundbreaking Bikehangar scheme | Cyclehoop Manchester City Council installed nine residential Bikehangars with electronic access. Watch the video to see the scheme in action.

Excellent work by Manchester City Council on this - these have apparently been very popular and there is already a long waiting list. It would be great to see some #BikeHangars in Rochdale - have we got any already? @triciaayr.bsky.social

It’s horrendous, and short termisn wrecks everything.

Pointed out to me that the #CastlefieldCorridor would’ve been sorted by now if we’d just got on with it…

We have had several Islabikes - they really were transformative compared with the other options at the time. Both my children learned to ride on a Cnoc 16

Small batch of Islabikes' much loved Cnoc starter bikes available in time for Christmas Islabikes Cnocs have been the first bike of choice for nearly 20 years and still give a fantastic learning experience

Seen in this month's @cyclinguk.bsky.social mag that #Islabikes has a small batch of new Cnocs

Apparently people are once again asking who's at fault here. We can improve road safety dramatically by revoking the driver's licence of everyone who thinks it's the cyclist's fault.

I love the fact that the Telegraph tried to cover the Rachel Reeves chess 'truth' story, and had to include the fact that even their own chess correspondent thinks it is utter bollocks.

Greater Manchester Bee Network Cycle Hire | Beryl Beryl operates Greater Manchester's Bee Network Cycle Hire in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester. Find your nearest bike and station.

I think they're in Chorlton if the map here is to be believed, but the spread beyond has been slow, and even though it's a docked scheme it's not been problem-free #BeeBikes

I don't know why Lime/Human Forest etc. *haven't* moved into GM.

04.12.2025 10:26 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

No, @walkridegm.org.uk might know more but my understanding is that there still isn’t a final decision despite a positive trial and persuasive arguments from DSS at a #BeeNetwork committee.

It’s not clear what the holdup is when e.g. Edinburgh trams have got on with it #TramsOnMetrolink

04.12.2025 06:58 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

It’s probably not wrong, given endless alarms and hard sound-reflecting surfaces. None of this helps with delirium, but mitigation has to be built in rather than added @ics-updates.bsky.social #ICMSky

We looked at the ear things, apparently they largely get ignored.

04.12.2025 06:56 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Aye, and meanwhile every other tram network in Europe can (or so it seems) take bikes off peak.

But despite a trial, #Metrolink can’t yet.

03.12.2025 22:27 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Definitely. I knew when #BeeNetwork became busses that the battle was lost and active travel ambition had packed up and gone home.

Remember the dutch waymarkers we were getting. @owlernook.bsky.social told me they were shelved, but I don't remember anyone saying. Quietly scrapped, like the rest.

03.12.2025 22:13 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

There’s even a book about it #TheMiraclePill

To paraphrase a past mayor of Copenhagen we can’t afford not to invest in #ActiveTravel. And yet…

03.12.2025 22:15 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It’s really short-sighted; if nothing else #ActiveTravel saves money in the long term by keeping people healthier and fitter, reducing demand on the NHS and on social care.

03.12.2025 22:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That’s the key issue - there are a couple of key continuous routes (Chorlton, Wilmslow Rd) but everything else is bits and pieces.

It’s not really good enough, the vision seems to have been lost and repurposing the #BeeNetwork branding for buses hasn’t helped.

03.12.2025 22:09 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

We really do need to invest in #ActiveTravel infrastructure but there’s been severe backsliding, and seven years into the ten-year #BeeNetwork plan we’ve got <10% of this.

The political cowardice is palpable.
