The West and respecting minorities??? We need only glance upon the history of the British colonial empire to know that certainly isn't the case!

The idea that "scientific inquiry" spawned from (our contemporary idea of) "the west" is absolutely bonkers in and of itself. Much of the earliest examples of science and mathematics are derived from Mesopotamia and the area around it, or, well, the Middle East.

Is it fine for people to move across the world solely to represent a country they have no connection to, just to access better resources? Should a few wealthy countries dominate in medals won because they have all the resources?
I think, perhaps, it really isn't a big deal.

Defining people by nationality is always going to be tricky and kinda arbitrary. When the US wins a medal, what does that mean? That we care a lot about skiing? That we're natural born talents? That we have the best techniques? Or that we have a lot of resources? Does it matter?

Like, it's the Democrat's job to MOVE people to vote first and foremost! If they can't do that, maybe we need to find some better options!!!

You don't have to do every single one all at once. And these are popular policies. Look at raising the minimum wage. Red state Nebraska voted for it, even as they voted in Donald Trump. And canceling debt would boost the economy, not crash it.

And we let it happen. Worse, we provide the tools. Grow a spine instead of resorting to "worse things could happen though!" Recognize an injustice and demand its end. The longer it takes, the more people needlessly die.

When real people are dying. That isn't some baseless emotional claim. I have seen parents collecting pieces of their children in garbage bags. Babies dying in hospitals that were targeted in bombing campaigns. People starving, because Israel refuses to let in aid.

What else do you need? This isn't a Korean War situation where the US inserts itself in a conflict that we aren't involved in. We are the providers of the weapons. US companies are profiting. Israeli organizations give money to our politicians. It's ridiculous to shrug and say "well, who knows?"

We've tried giving you context: the previous administrations that have reigned in Israel, the tens of thousands in Palestine who are already dead or dying, the fact that Israel *relies* on the US for $ and weapons, and that Israel is the instigator and had attacked its neighbors unprovoked

"Defected" "change sides" this is a friendly sports competition, not international war

We just stop sending them weapons, and stop assuming the outcome will be devastation either way.

So instead we should let Israel murder tens of thousands of civilians!

If their wallets voted, do more to put money in the hands of working people! And I don't just mean tax breaks or things that will take years to see benefit. Cancel debts, cap rent, regulate grocery prices, break up the monopolies, build government housing.

Once again, presidential administrations have yanked the leash on Israel many times before. I really Do Not Care what the GOP has to say. Israel launched unprovoked attacks on Iran already. *They* are the instigators.

Other administrations have reigned in Israel with a phone call. No, she wasn't the president, but she *was* the vice president. That comes with a lot of sway, and they know that. She was always going to judged on the actions of the Biden administration, which should have done more for Gaza

I wouldn't necessarily say that, I've seen lots of people make hard shifts to pro-labor after being screwed over by employers. I'm not saying he's definitely a kind-hearted saint, but I'm not going to pretend I know for certain that he's an evil villain.
