There is no such thing as a “pay-for” in a bill that adds more than $4T to the debt.

As a renewable energy markets analyst, I pay basically no attention to the COP process. Cheap renewables will shallow-decarbonise developing nations faster and more effectively than brittle, compromising negotiations in boardrooms. The process has long-term value but my hope is outside it.

At this moment, it’s simply reassuring to know that this set of discerning policy professionals has also reformed the country’s medical research agenda, energy R&D portfolio, foreign aid and intelligence program, and military doctrine. We are in good hands.

We have to invest in building out a *diverse* clean electricity mix rapidly & now - not bc "we don't know what to do re last 10% after 90% VRE," but bc we're not close to the world the models tell us we can achieve. It's smart risk management in the face of uncertainty TODAY.
