Behind it can be seen many stars, the Magellanic clouds, and Pluto and Charon. Atop the ship sits a green-white-turquoise anthropoid-like person, which is a colonial organism alien taking on an anthropoid shape temporarily. There's a quote on the image, reading: Plutonians: But there is no air here. Topology. What the mass of organisms in front of me is doing is manipulating the topology of the universe itself. Or rather, maybe demanding it to assemble itself as asked. I realise that my reaction to this, as it is, is yet another humanism I despise. I am human, after all. That barrier that says, I can't do this, so it's not human. It's cruel. I should try not to be cruel. It even took on a human appearance. For my comfort? I shouldn't assume. A Plutonian. I've just finished reading "Wet Sun" and it's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. It's beautiful and funny (a difficult combination) and while there's only four chapters so far, what story has been hinted at is intriguing. I highly recommend checking it out.

By giving Eris butterfly wings that look like the Lorenz System, we risk syncretizing Eris and Psyche (the OG Ancient Greek butterflygirl). But Psyche bled for Eros for the first rose (with the first rose came the world), as Adonis bled for Aphrodite, as Hyacinth bled for Apollo.

Eris has no associated sacred animals, unlike many members of the Greek pantheon. Some depictions include black bird wings and later interpretations connect her to serpents or crows; neither of these satisfy me. I propose the order Lepidoptera, for reasons that should be obvious.

It was pretty devastating but I've coped with it by deciding that authorial intent really is fake to the point that the majority (perhaps the entirety) of authors literally do not understand the significance and meaning of what they write (including me).

One time I reached out to an author to talk about a work that touched me so deeply it has a strong claim to being directly responsible for many of my most important beliefs. I was informed that I had totally misunderstood the piece and it was supposed to be a "bad end" horror story. DOTA, I guess...

Related to aforementioned Dune Phase, I've been learning a lot more about Islam. Specifically, I've been reading Meadows of Gold, a 10th century Abbasid history and one of the best pre-modern history books I've ever read. It's a delight to read and I've been learning a lot. Here are some highlights:

I didn't have anything scheduled, but yesterday was my birthday. I did a Dune (2021), Dune: Part Two (2024), and Dune (1984) triple feature and had a great time. I think the first two, collated, have a very serious claim to being the "greatest movie ever made". I've been in my "Dune Phase" recently.
