You have to tumble rocks together that are the same hardness. If you tumble softer rocks with harder rocks you’ll damage the softer ones. Use the Mohs hardness scale or a scratch test if you don’t know what the rocks are. Various sizes of rocks are good, don’t have to be all the same size.

They can only eat the rocks once I’ve checked them over to make sure they’re not cool rocks that can be tumbled lol
