They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

hoopla is amazing. it also isn’t cheap. but the best argument we librarians can make to the purse string holders for keeping it is that people actually use it, so please use it! πŸ“š πŸ“Ί

That would be amazing! It's such an intricately-written poem that it doesn't surprise me that it was holding other secrets.

This is DEFCON 1 priority, y'all. Call your senators, reps, call your friends and tell them to call their senators and reps about this. Call your grandma and tell her to call her senators and reps about this.

What we have here will be *gone* if these bills pass.

I really appreciate that @pbsnews.org ended the interview with this graphic.

Turns out fighting fascism helps you live longer Retirees are mobilizing to defend democracyβ€”and the benefits literally show up in their DNA.

A study found that volunteering slows down aging in retirees: the DNA of people who volunteered the equivalent of one to four hours a week showed distinctive biomarkers associated with decelerated epigenetic aging, with the most pronounced effects among retired people.

Just finished reading this. I couldn't put it down. It's still so hard to understand all of the factors leading up to so many people following Jim Jones, but among other things, I learned that a number of the Jonestown victims were forcibly injected with cyanide, and they were all held at gunpoint.

Just finished reading The Rose Field (the last book in The Book of Dust series by Philip Pullman), and while I'm still trying to sort out all of the ideas he was trying to convey, I really liked what he did with the alkahest. Has anyone else read it?
