Sadly, I’ve rearranged my schedule. When I’ve had to do it for depositions in Greece / Thailand, I’ve just started very early in the morning or started at 9pm, under the theory that the happy and non-sleep-deprived witness is a good witness.

Hitting you in both places. I am a fan of the Pottery Barn “Printer’s” line of office furniture. The writing desk is almost the size you want (32” deep) and burly, and I’m pretty sure could hold your monitor. There are other desks in the line that could work for you as well.
