reading a bit, they concluded that Palestine Action does terrorism but not enough for proscription. a W is a W, but that does continue the racist and islamophobic subtext of who is or isn't a terrorist in the US & UK. do you think it's the court's understanding that the suffragettes were terrorists?

Everything we do to protect communities, we do for free, as willing volunteers. That goes for the vast majority of those who resist ICE.

Everything ICE agents do to terrorize communities, they do for money, and that money comes out of our pockets.

The longer they go without paychecks, the better.

NEW: In a protest against the University of Minnesota’s accommodation of DHS & ICE, 6 students chained themselves to Morrill Hall demanding the university be a sanctuary campus. Three of the chained students left after being threatened with academic retaliation and police arrested the remaining 3.

The public made noise for Liam Ramos and it got him released from Dilley.

Now we must make noise for 7 year old Diana Crespo.

Her parents were taking her for emergency medical care when ICE grabbed them, and she’s rotting in the camp sick and exposed to measles.

Get them out!

Jake Lang was so scared of getting his ass beat again by the city of Minneapolis. He decided instead he would just like to take a felony and pretend he ist a Martyr.

The cops won't protect people from ICE. The mayor won't protect people from ICE. Even the governor won't protect people from ICE.

So the people are protecting people from ICE, and I get why you're threatened by that idea but also fuck you.

OPSEC is a spectrum

When talking about OPSEC, sometimes we see people talking about how to be impervious to the feds or infiltrators. Here’s the hard truth. You can’t. All organizing (or at least effective organizing) will involve some kind of risk.

When I saw pictures of Liam Ramos with his Spidey backpack and bunny hat, I felt an overwhelming responsibility as someone who works in superhero comics. Please do check out the art in #Comics4Liam and visit comics4liam.com to support Liam and groups helping other immigrants like him. ❀️πŸ’ͺπŸ‡

The videos starting to come out from rural Minnesota of observers being illegally detained by ice and others are absolutely harrowing. We need solidarity with the smaller cities outside of the metro because these people are putting themselves on the line without the level of support the city has.

It doesn’t matter that Don Lemon hired a superstar attorney or that the case against him is meritless.

There are too many journalists with far less money and far fewer resources than Lemon who will be more cautious going forward. That was the intent, and that’s the main problem.

Please remember that if you serve on a grand jury, you can absolutely say NO to any indictment.

Also please note Georgia Fort's incredible bravery in the face of this violation.

Also please note that the feds are targeting Black people in this farce.

US history has conclusively proved that when the cops kill somebody, the immediate project becomes coming up with some crime to convict them with after the fact to frame the killing as deserved, to make them at fault for their own murder.

It can be anything at all. Doesn’t even need to be a crime.

(For the record, I do think people who say protests that happen elsewhere can’t happen here are often doing a cop out. Militant protests have occurred in the US, and even when things like a lack of safety net make things harder, the point shouldn’t be to throw up your hands but organize solutions.)

Additionally, even when the advice is good, I am going to give a little more grace someone who has not been super involved in protest and suddenly found themselves in a spicy situation than I would to someone who showed up to a front line with a lot of foreknowledge/planning.
