04.08.2025 03:59 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Your eyes are not deceiving you. While I stripped everything I didnβt need off my bike, this father carried a whole extra little human, in a trailer, up to Hurricane Ridge. And I got this shot because he passed me on the climb (multiple times due to rest stops). Humans are wild.

04.08.2025 00:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just two really and they are not too bad from a Seattle perspective. Note the metric century route has a lot of legs out and back mainly to add miles but most the same lavender farms are on the βfunβ route too: ridewithgps.com/routes/42078...

03.08.2025 23:34 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0From Seattle the Bainbridge ferry plus the Clallam Transit Strait Shot bus gets you there car-free. If you bike camp at Sequim Bay State Park thatβs an overnight trip for a total travel and lodging cost of only $52.50!
03.08.2025 23:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Should be good for the next few weeks! During the official event (yesterday) all the farms are open as rest stops with water, snacks etc, as well as selling their lavender goods.

Today I rode the Ride the Hurricane from Port Angeles. A 20-mile ride from Port Angeles up to Hurricane Ridge, which is a constant and single 5,230 ft climb, of which the last two thirds is closed to cars for the event. (And then a very sporty descent to come back to Port Angeles.)

Yesterday I rode the Tour de Lavender from Sequim. A 64-mile tour around a bunch of lavender farms. Great ride. Always recommend it. With a ride to the start in the morning and ride to Port Angeles afterwards, a 89-mile day.

I saw this a couple weeks ago and again last night and like, I am tired. Why are the signs for cars in the wall/roll space? Why are there so many? Why are they so huge (freeway scale) for a neighborhood street? I think these translate to βplease walk and roll in the car lane at a walking paceβ π€·ββοΈ
