And FWIW do not under any circumstances bike on Delridge other than in the bike lane. Nearly 100% attempts on my life. Decided it's never worth it.

Most important bike β€œtool” to carry always is a bus pass/farecard.

Your eyes are not deceiving you. While I stripped everything I didn’t need off my bike, this father carried a whole extra little human, in a trailer, up to Hurricane Ridge. And I got this shot because he passed me on the climb (multiple times due to rest stops). Humans are wild.

Tour de Lavender Family Fun Ride 2025 Follow the Yellow arrow street markings. - 35.9 mi, +783 ft. Bike ride in Sequim, WA

Just two really and they are not too bad from a Seattle perspective. Note the metric century route has a lot of legs out and back mainly to add miles but most the same lavender farms are on the β€œfun” route too: ridewithgps.com/routes/42078...

From Seattle the Bainbridge ferry plus the Clallam Transit Strait Shot bus gets you there car-free. If you bike camp at Sequim Bay State Park that’s an overnight trip for a total travel and lodging cost of only $52.50!

Should be good for the next few weeks! During the official event (yesterday) all the farms are open as rest stops with water, snacks etc, as well as selling their lavender goods.

These adventures made much easier, faster, and more amazing by ferries and buses and hiker-biker access to state park campgrounds. More of all of these things, please!

Today I rode the Ride the Hurricane from Port Angeles. A 20-mile ride from Port Angeles up to Hurricane Ridge, which is a constant and single 5,230 ft climb, of which the last two thirds is closed to cars for the event. (And then a very sporty descent to come back to Port Angeles.)

Yesterday I rode the Tour de Lavender from Sequim. A 64-mile tour around a bunch of lavender farms. Great ride. Always recommend it. With a ride to the start in the morning and ride to Port Angeles afterwards, a 89-mile day.

Not too bad if you pinch the nose thingy correctly. It has a metal bit in there so it can hold shape.

I’d like to know who at Washington Parks decided to make the bathroom stall walls top out at 5 ft, so I can throw them into the sea. A typical 6 foot man is a full head above the walls and face to face with anyone waiting outside the stall when standing up.

One of the homes I deliver to for my local food bank (I volunteer for weekly home delivery by bike!) is a big house with a gated driveway and it’s sobering. I am happy they are getting what they need.

I can confirm that 3M Aura masks are fine for biking! Only annoying thing is it’s harder to drink water and you have to stop. ✨

I complained about it like last year and was told they were installed correctly and I was like yes, but not in the right place. (They’re clearly meant to be mounted at street level and not curb level, so likely just the wrong type.)

I saw this a couple weeks ago and again last night and like, I am tired. Why are the signs for cars in the wall/roll space? Why are there so many? Why are they so huge (freeway scale) for a neighborhood street? I think these translate to β€œplease walk and roll in the car lane at a walking pace” πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
