I couldn't pay my bills if I were elected to the NJ State legislature. That tells you a lot about the type of person who is even capable of running.

Husband, dad, and union worker from New Jersey. Strong supporter of Liberalism. I like history, woodworking, native plants, and buying local.

08.11.2025 02:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0100% agree. Even while I served a short stint *on* the local party committee it felt very insular. Not being on the committee you wouldn't even know it existed outside of GOTV efforts.
05.11.2025 15:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For several years now I've been doing a heritage breed turkey on Thanksgiving. There is only 1 farm I know of in NJ where you can get one, and honestly it's like night and day to me. It just tastes so much more turkey-y. The ubiquitous broad-breasted breeds are inferior and less healthy.

There were a few Trump supporters who kept driving by, and they literally had images of Trump as a king. These people aren't being quiet about it.
He was considered a Liberal in his time too. America was founded on Liberalism and Lincoln was a true believer.

11.09.2025 02:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So, rather than have our 4th of July depressed by the bad that has happened and is happening, we should take this opportunity to remember the commitments made in the cause of Liberty throughout our history and resolve to make those same commitments ourselves. And that is worth celebrating. 3/3
03.07.2025 20:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The fight that they committed to, to protect and expand liberty, to oppose tyranny, is the same fight we are in. It's not just similar to it, it is in fact the same fight.
The Revolution is still unfinished, and those opposing its ideals have been sabotaging and undermining it for 249 years. 2/
At times like these it's worth remembering that the 4th of July doesn't commemorate a great victory or achievement.
The war was well underway and things would become even more bleak
Instead we should remember it for being when people soberly saw the fight ahead and fully committed to it. 1/
22 hours in on this Big Disastrous Bill, and thereβs a reason why the Republicans are flailing: they know itβs reckless and wrong.
Weβre going to keep the pressure on. Please help us spread the word.
There was a great Neonliberalism podcast episode where they broke down how Conservatives have long been trying to come up with Liberal sounding justifications for the policies they support because they just couldn't win if they admitted they wanted to undo the enlightenment.

NO KINGS
I offered you an explanation of how you get a focus group like that. The person who ran it was clear that it wasn't representative. You provided one poll that showed what people claimed they would do in a hypothetical 1v1 matchup and Sherrill barely got a majority. I'm not sure what your issue is.
11.06.2025 17:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's not a sample at all. It's a focus group. If you took a "sample" of 8 people you'd get all kinds of weird results. And you can't just add those numbers together. People are idiosyncratic it's entirely possible that there would be a 3 or 4 point difference (or way more) from what you'd expect.
11.06.2025 17:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's literally impossible to know how some other vote would have gone. If you think anywhere close to 100% of any candidate's voters transfer to a specific other candidate, I don't think that's supported. Still, how big was this focus group? I looked into it and heard audio from only 8 people.
11.06.2025 16:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Your point was about people who support her as their first choice, was it not? Also, people are idiosyncratic and it's impossible to say what would have happened in a runoff, but I think it would be a good idea to do them in the future or adopt an instant runoff or RCV system for future primaries.
11.06.2025 16:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I didn't see the context for this, but remember that even though she won she only got a third of the vote. And since she was backed by most of the party apparatus it isn't surprising to me that she would over perform with less focused voters, who in a previous year would just be voting the line.
