Everything is terrorism in Trump’s America But don’t call that fascism. That would be bad.

Let's be clear: Trump's attacks on "antifa" are an attack on America. www.theverge.com/policy/79051...

The year is 2003.

17-year-old Stephen Miller is sitting in the back of a school bus talking about torture, as in β€œTorture is a celebration of human life and dignity."

Miller looks directly into the camera and describes the torturing Iraqis in gruesome detail, as his peers laugh uncomfortably.

My favourite thing about JK Rowling claiming she lived through poverty is the state provided her with a one-bedroom flat which she always refers to as β€œa glorified bedsit”. The β€œglorified” bit is: a separate bedroom and living room.

@caelan.bsky.social has an amazing video about this, she’s MONSTROUS. Worse than you think.

I'm a teacher and this is both true and terrible. I struggle so hard to remember student names and actually remember like 1 in 10. Though this does make it easier to grade fairly.

When Belief Crosses the Line: Kathleen Stock, Grainger V, and the Legal Limits of Exclusion Thanks to a sharp legal commentary from Alice Appleby, we now have a clearer view of how gender critical belief may have just undone itself in court.

β€œIn trying to clarify what gender critical belief means, Kathleen Stock has done more than define it β€” she may have made it indefensible.” - @joannelockwood.bsky.social

Have the β€˜gender critical’ transphobes undone themselves in their relentless pushing of boundaries to be even more bigoted? 🀨

So yeah, we can't "just leave". We're scared, we are fucking terrified. We don't need a lecture on how we're awful people for hiding. If you wouldn't hide Anne Frank in your attic, you at LEAST wouldn't tell her how to survive under Hitler.

The cover of the book THE EGG KNIGHT AND THE DRAGON by Zoe Storm.

The cover of the book THE EGG KNIGHT AND THE DRAGON by Zoe Storm.

Being a knight in service of the Undying Emperor is not easy, especially for someone like Adrian, the Egg Knight: oppressing the people of the Empire is against everything he's been taught, and if he could, he would kill the Emperor himself and bring his half-millennium reign to an end.

But the Emperor is not only undying, but unkillable as well, and no one who dared defy him has ever lived to tell the tale; Adrian himself has been a witness to several futile attempts on the Emperor's life, each ending in complete failure. So he does the Emperor's bidding and does his best to help the common people, but sorely wishes he could do more.

"Go and collect taxes," the Emperor says, and Adrian goes and collects taxes.

"Go and put down the rebellion," the Emperor orders, and Adrian goes and puts down the rebellion.

"Go and slay the dragon," the Emperor commands, and Adrian goes and slays the dragon... or tries to, at least.

Because the dragon is no mindless beast, and harbours within his body an arcane, ancient secret, which could bring about unfathomable changes for the Empire... and for Adrian himself.

A fantasy novella about an unlikely friendship and finding your place in the world.

Uh... hello! A post I made seems to be getting a bit of attention, so real quick:

I have a book coming out on June 30th! It's titled THE EGG KNIGHT AND THE DRAGON and it's about... an egg knight and a dragon. Of course.

Here's the cover and synopsis:

I think the reason more narratively interesting books, like Kimmy or Hell Followed With Us or The Hades Calculus will stick around is we're, as people, are as interested in poking the edges of our pain as much as being comforted.

I would expect to see MORE of these books as material conditions deteriorate for lesbians and queer people in general. Who wants to read about oppression after a long day at the oppression factory?
