The Air Quality Index (AQI) that says the air is safe in LA after the wildfires does not take into account toxic gases that form when urban materials burn at such high temps. Considers ozone, PM, NOx, SO2. My team and I are discussing going there to measure the toxins in the air (between SD & LA).

Methinks the EPA might stay mum because they don’t want to get sued. But yes… someone please help us! My pulmonologist told me yesterday that this is akin to a post 9/11 toxic situation then you have a whole city of people relying on Purple Air readings even when ash is falling from the sky.

"While exercise in our study has reduced the subjective fatigability during activities of daily living as evidenced by the reduction in FSS scores, it did not improve the [objective fatigability] in tasks requiring consecutive maximum exertion of effort such as the repeated HGS test. The form of PEM that occurs in #MEcfs is (as far as we known unique to ME and even diagnostic of it. If someone has that, they have ME. But lots of things get mistakes for PEM that are not ME-PEM.

Just to bust this myth: PEM is *not* just disproportionate fatigue. This is a huge misconception. PEM/PENE is a systemic, whole body response to over exertion, that involves inflammation, muscle damage, neuroinflammation, immune activation and metabolic dysfunction. It’s never just fatigue #MEcfs
