The Ontario Science Centre opened 56 years ago today, on Sept 26, 1969.

A gift to Ontarians for Canada’s centennial, a radio signal from over 1.5 billion light-years away struck a circuit at the OSC to raise a curtain, opening it for all.

Doug Ford, age 4, could not stop the launch.

Ontario Science Centre school cancelled for another year The decision to shutter the school for another year comes as the Science Centre looks to find “a suitable temporary home.”

“With the government's apparent focus on repurposing surplus schools across the province, and community colleges asking for new opportunities, it should have been easy for Ontario to find a partner to relaunch the OSC's esteemed Science School.”
