A Ticking Clock on American Freedom It’s later than you think, but it’s not too late.

Trump’s tariff plan is ‘malpractice,’ says former FTC Chair Lina Khan Trump’s sweeping tariffs are marked by “total incoherence” and “malpractice,” warns Lina Khan, the former chair of the Federal Trade Commission. “Families and households are going to see inflated costs while small businesses are going to get decimated– and big firms are going to be best positioned to come out ahead," Khan tells Ali Velshi. The uncertainty surrounding Trump’s tariffs is paralyzing smaller firms, warns Khan, clearing the way for monopolies and “sweetheart deals” that benefit the well-connected. “The biggest of the big corporations can basically, in backrooms, create trade agreements that punish working Americans [and] small businesses,” she says.

Trump’s chaotic tariff scheme slammed as “malpractice” by fmr. FTC Chair @linamkhan.bsky.social.

Small businesses will be decimated, American households will face higher costs—while large corporations will benefit from “backroom deals,” she warns. #Velshi

Amid ‘DEI’ purge, Pentagon removes webpage on Iwo Jima flag-raiser Pages celebrating Navajo code talkers and other minority service members were also erased.

You can’t make this up. The Trump admin is erasing images of one of the servicemembers who raised the flag at Iwo Jima.

What an outrageous act of disrespect to one of America’s heroes. His name is Pfc. Ira Hayes, and he deserves to be honored.

Trump declares that it constitutes a high crime and misdemeanor worthy of impeachment for a federal judge to rule against him.

People need to be crystal clear about something: The requirement that the government ANSWER to a court on the legal basis for detaining someone is literally the core liberty right (habeas corpus). If the government says they don’t have to do that bc “national security,” YOU can be disappeared.

Prebunking Elon Musk's Super Bowl Propaganda Perception is reality.

I wrote about the importance of "prebunking," in light of rumors that Elon Musk may have purchased $40 million in Super Bowl ads to spread misinformation about the "fraud" and "corruption" in this vital agency. I hope you will read and share asharangappa.substack.com/p/prebunking...

A tweet by Michael McFaul (@McFaul) that reads: "In 2012, when I was the US ambassador to Russia, Putin shut down USAID inside Russia. Why? Because their work supported free markets, democracy, human rights — ie causes that threatened Putin's dictatorship. Shutting down USAID is exactly what autocrats all over the world want."

Ok sure, eggs are more expensive and inflation isn’t lowering, but at least they cut the funding for childhood cancer research, stopped monitoring Bird flu, shutdown Medicaid, stripped hungry kids of their school lunches and took hot meals away from seniors

Let's be clear: the Medicaid portal went offline because of Donald Trump's orders.

The only reason it is back on is due to outrage from the American people.

Now, they are trying to lie about it.

Medicaid was never taken away from Americans under President Biden.

It's OK if You're Not Ok. No One Who's Paying Attention Right Now, is. “How are you?” I asked my dear friend Julie, as she fell down into her chair across from me with a loud exhale.

No one is OK right now.

At least, no one with working empathy and a knowledge of History who’s paying attention.

15 YEARS OF CITIZENS UNITED: A BILLIONAIRE'S DREAM COME TRUE

Trump's administration is a stark reminder of the corrupting influence of money in politics. Billionaires who bankrolled his campaign are now set to reap massive rewards, while WE foot the bill.

So sad. But well done, Cecile, you certainly had a life well lived. And good sense of humor on the day you decided to leave this earthly world.
