Starting a 3-handed run of the Dunwich Legacy today, with 3 investigators I've never used - feels strange to be stepping out here without at least Roland, Ashcan or Jenny in tow, but fancied trying out the other options before I start my permadeath run on this...

Well it took most of the day and some heavy leaning on ArkhamDB.com but I have 2 decks per box for the first 10 investigators with minimal card swapping between them (no more than six) - This means the next time I get the urge (or someone wants to try it) I am ready!

Sorting all my Arkham Horror cards and building a few decks for Dunwich Conspiracy - when buying I sorted and alphabetised all the sets I've opened, not appreciating my brain wouldn't be able to process such a large pool - so back they go into their appropriate sets...

Ah it was the biggest group at the time - can't remember the name (I've been off Facebook for a while) - it used to say on the banner "we have one rule, don't be a dick.", but yeah they weren't as inclusive as they pretended to be...

If it's the "don't be a dick" group - a bunch of us were thrown out years ago when a misogynistic joke was posted - rather than listen to the reasoning the owner just banned us (in my case I hadn't actually typed anything, he just banned me for liking a non-confrontational message calling it out).

I feel your pain - had some dental work done recently and can only assume my dentist fashioned one of my back teeth into a razor sharp fang...

People only say "don't involve politics" or "playing politics" when it's something they don't agree with. It's perceived as an easy way to shut down discourse when they are confronted with an idea they don't want to process, usually because there's a feeling they might be wrong.

Yeah, I had hopes when they announced a new Heroquest, but was put out when it was just generic alikes.

If we do see a new Space Crusade it will be by Hasbro with generic sci-fi analogues which is probably why we won't. Established fantasy archetypes are better from a marketing perspective.

Had an excellent couple of games of Cthulhu Death May Die this afternoon - had to document Walter's last stand - fortunately Hastur fell soon afterwards to an enraged Albert Einstein...

I know their strategy for a long time was boxed games were a distraction from the Warhammer stuff... It's why Blood Bowl etc was dead for such a long time. It's a shame really - I'm not going to play 40k or Fantasy Battle because I can't play Blood Bowl!

I don't know why Games Workshop aren't putting out more boardgames - Warhammer Quest is such a good system.

Dexterity games remain in my youth as a past-time; but it was a game I owned and loved as a child so I couldn't say no to this updated version of "The Game of #Jaws" from #neca!

Will likely see some play as a filler, or with those who don't like boardgames (but do like drinking!)

Had an enjoyable afternoon learning Star Trek: Captain's Chair by @wizkids.bsky.social, in fact I'm going again to better my score.

Enjoying how the effects are fitted to the characters, like Bruce Maddox working with Synthetics, and "Bad-miral" Pressman being shady around cloaking!

More #ShadowsOfBrimstone Forbidden Fortress miniatures painted - Tengu, Acid Blobs and Bone Eaters. Think I will focus on getting the core box minis completed before doing any more extra enemy packs, but the 'eaters were some low hanging fruit with most of it completed by airbrush.

Sprayed some base colours on more #ShadowsOfBrimstone Forbidden Fortress stuff today.

The green of the acid blobs is almost glow-in-the-dark, hoping the wash will probably calm it down some, although it is pretty close to the art!

Sitting down to it is 3/4 of the battle - these have haunted my painting table since January!

I did wonder if you'd go for the doors in the end...

It does raise some difficult questions about who now traps Ripley and Newt in a room with facehuggers...

"a beast" is exactly how I described it earlier... The breakdown is savage - the enemy deck resetting is something else, but it makes for such a varied game system!

Always the perfect time! I played some Arkham Horror this afternoon and as much as I love them both, I missed the agility of CDMD, which you can bust out and have going in minutes, even with new players!

A chef, a mobster and a magician walk into an inmsmouth guesthouse before all hell breaks loose...

Yep, it's Arkham Horror 3rd edition - Calvin and Tommy filled in for the dead and mad (respectively) Dexter and Michael towards the end but Zoe still managed to defeat Dagon and Hydra!

Calling this one done as I'm busy until game night where it plays a starring role.

Learnt some hard lessons about flat surfaces and washes along the way (this is the first vehicle I have painted in over 30 years!).

Good enough for (colonial) government work!

I went through the tutorial for S.T.A.L.K.E.R... and it did not disappoint!

Excited to explore this one further, the rules feel strategic (and has noise/stealth mechanisms which is always popular with me!) - this has just jumped to the top of the paint queue!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. the board game has arrived, in a box that can only be described as a whopper - never played the video game but the IP/style of game certainly felt up my irradiated alley.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to fight the urge to get this straight to the table this weekend!
