Anyone who has been on a forum site knows that when a mod is posting like this it's because being really fucking annoying about a problem is actually working and starting to get to them. But hey waffles or whatever, I'm sure people will just shut up if you keep posting hard enough!

Moderation works best when most people are following the rules willingly and view the moderation as necessary and helpful. Getting that buy in is not that hard, but the thing that makes it hard is having a contemptuous, combattive attitude towards your userbase.

By the way, this is blatantly not true if you look at the way they suspended a bunch of people after Kirk's death. You can absolutely harass these people into moderating the way you want them to, you just have to be a right winger.
