Loved this cross-genre novel. Great characters and compact writing.

..or maybe I’m wrong. I am an old guy, who was brought up to protect those being oppressed. If you see it, stop it. It could be your Mum or Sister, wouldn’t you want someone to intervene?

Just finished Chris Pavone’s ‘The Doorman’. Lovely read, warm characters plus some cold baddies. Set in NYC, very relatable political & social commentary. 4*

I watched that staff meeting where the CEO took naps and was struggling to understand the sycophantic nature of his underlings. The blatant falsehoods and positing fantasy as fact. These are genuinely unserious people in positions of great power with little grasp on reality. Not leaders.

We, in Europe, cannot understand how the general public can stand by and let men assault women with impunity. Don’t just film it guys, stop it. If enough people intervene fiercely, you will save lives.

I know, many of the books I’ve read in the past 10 years have clearly not been vigorously edited. I’m not a grammar nazi, but bad grammar, misspelling etc takes me out of the story. I don’t cast blame on the authors, my writing needs a lot of checking, it’s the lack of editorial oversight.

I feel you, just loaded up my calibre with books to sideload my new paperwhite, and I’m at 145 that I haven’t read yet - and they all look fabulous. New Year’s resolution: don’t get more books until I’ve read at least half of them!

I think you’re right! Got a sense of Deja vu when I saw the stage show, but the creators cleverly omitted the song about the rainbow, which left me confused and questioning myself.

Hmm, isn’t a rouge teacher one who wears blusher on the cheeks? Do you mean a rogue teacher; a charming scoundrel who goes against the prescribed curriculum? Education matters folks, wherever you attain it.

Let’s just say: It’s a quick read.
