i’m still not ready to read them, but tonight i opened the envelopes. i think i am going to cancel my subscription until i’m ready to ready to resume.

i’m putting my books back on my bookshelves for now, and do you want to hear something silly?

for at least the last year, i’ve been spending 14 dollars for every new chapter of saga to be mailed to me (4 dollars for the book and 10 dollars in shipping) but haven’t even opened the usps envelopes.

the ones i bought might be more custom fit than that, but they would definitely be less expensive online than the custom wrapping store i bought mine from online. i guess it wouldn’t hurt to try a cheap pair and compare them.

i am so poorly inclined to do mechanical things. if you ever want to see me look stupid just hand me an ikea box or even a few tools with a simple objective.

one lame thing about needing to wear compression socks every day but only being able to afford 2 pairs, that you have to wash your socks every other night

yea, it’s definitely possible that she is a factor. she seems indifferent to all of my family, honestly. i’ve seen how she treats people she likes interacting with, and it’s not any of us.

none of my other family members have ever made this stance or anything like it at all. it’s all very new information and i’m trying to process it, but it really feels very controlling and selfish.

b) just casually saying “sorry i can’t go on vacation with you this year, maybe we can do something next year” year after year while continuing to make trips to see my sister instead

(yes this is passive aggressive but i don’t think “a” gets anything done either and this one seems less rude)

he hasn’t told me this directly, but he said it to my sister this week while he was visiting her at her home.

i’m really debating between

a) telling him that if i have to choose that my choice isn’t him

or

yea, he believes in a world where i have enough vacation time to visit with him and my sister (but separately) and also anything else i want to do personally in the same year. i just don’t think i can swing all of that with 3 weeks of vacation time a year, and he’s the easiest cut to make.

okay, the part about the third wheel is especially interesting, because … he wants to bring along his (4th) wife, and they treat us like a 3rd wheel regardless

i don’t get it too. it’s frustrating.

there is only one of the 2 (divorced) parents making this stance, and it’s the retired and well off one who spends half the year internationally.

i think he *wants* to be the higher priority, but i don’t think he understands that this is not the way 2 get it

in a world where time and vacation hours and finances are limited, doesn’t it seem like the parent is choosing to be a lower priority than the siblings who actively want to spend time together?
