Not entirely a reliable indicator either, neurodivergent people sometimes do this... though in the case of neurodivergence, the verbosity is an attempt at absolute precision in language, exhaustively trying to eliminate any other possible interpretation other than the writer's exact thought.

Exactly. AI emulates professional and academic standards because that's most of what it was trained on. The output can also look like writing by neurodivergent humans, because again, that's a lot of what it was trained on - who else would write in encyclopedic detail about obscure topics?

Remember: If unions didn’t matter, powerful corporations wouldn’t spend millions of dollars every year to stop them from forming. Keep up the fight.

IMPORTANT: The Dutch invested €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do math on investing in better mobility.

Let’s be clear β€” it wastes public money to NOT do it.

This is a topic I have tried to push for years. Kids have a right to move around on our roads exactly the same as licensed drivers. You don't need a licenses to ride your bike in the street and yet cities do little to protect youth who need to use our roads.

Your regular reminder that the more often you own your mistakes, the easier it gets.

It is like any muscle-- work it more and it gets stronger.

All people mess up, and sometimes we do so publicly.

It's not the end of the world to acknowledge that we missed the mark; it's how we clean up.

The word accident is a tool for conditioning us to treat crashes as inevitable tragedies rather than questioning why they happened and trying to prevent them.

And this has been the position of the US government for nearly 80 years: Forced public subsidy of private transportation to create profit for oil/gas, car manufacturers, and road construction. That’s why public transit (more affordable in every way) is dead in much of the country.

We need to talk about ableist gatekeeping in cycling culture - Greta Christina's Blog E-bikes get people out of cars and onto bikes -- good for traffic and the environment. Bike lanes aren't a prize earned by having thighs of steel.

"The proposal to ban e-bikes from bike lanes might have been persuasive if it had been an actual argument, rather than an ableist, gatekeeping diatribe about the superiority of old-school cycling."

Additionally, this is why they make you put your seat back up before take off and landing (so the person behind you doesn’t smack into it as hard if there is a…sudden deceleration.)

For commuting though, absolutely not, commuting is not dangerous enough to warrant that kind of a helmet.

DHS Scraps Ban on Surveillance Based on Sexual Orientation (1) A Department of Homeland Security unit eliminated policies prohibiting personnel from conducting intelligence activities based solely on a person’s gender identity or sexual orientation.

DHS has removed manual guidance barring investigations solely based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

This is a prerequisite to targeting the LGBTQ community with criminal investigations solely based on being LGBTQ.

Not just Democrats! Major media outlets need to clearly describe what's happening as authoritarianism instead of using euphemisms like "broad Presidential powers." It's not even up for debate anymore at this point.

In Washington last year, a traffic crash killed or seriously injured someone every 2.7 hours, but I've never seen a TV news station claim that even a single horrific crash "highlights the dangers" of roadway travel.

Alright, I’m resolving the debate. All of these are simultaneously true:

1) Dems are the minority in Congress, greatly limiting their institutional power

2) Congressional Dems can and should be doing more

3) Some Dems are actually doing opposition, drawing public attention, etc

4) Not enough are

Wheelchair users regularly use the painted bike lane on my street, regardless of the season, because smooth asphalt is a better rolling experience than bumpy sidewalks with slopes from driveways to the street. If you haven’t used a wheelchair, it can be hard to appreciate how bad sidewalks are. 1/3
