I’ll be doing free, family friendly comics classes at most of the Anchorage Library branches over Spring Break!
We’ll be thinking about what is great about our community, then make some weird comics about them.

Applications are open for the Alaska Fellows Program, a fall-to-spring residential fellowship that pairs talented young people with professional mentors. Anyone know a post-grad looking for an opportunity... Or just more snow and moose in their lives?

Juneau musicians welcome ruling granting breweries unlimited live music Until last month, breweries were limited to hosting four live shows a year. Before 2024, they were banned from having them completely.

The ruling comes right on time for musicians and businesses to start planning for the Alaska Folk Festival in April.

It is kind of crazy that Alaska has more athletes in the winter Olympics than entire countries. And not just warm weather countries! There are more Olympians just from Anchorage than the Icelandic Olympic Team, despite Iceland have a larger population than Anchorage.

I just love that XC and the chill vibes also has a little undercurrent of intrigue and double agents, beyond the wax tech secrets and alchemy.

Project X We are actively seeking athletes with a record of fast XC skiing (primarily skating) who may be interested in Biathlon

The library is putting so much work into the sessions and bringing up the best of Alaskan’s comics community (hey, I’ll be there so obviously), as well as making a lot of space for their their local creators.

They love him in Bethel. Their librarian said they just call their comics/zine/ art offerings ‘Jimmy classes’ since he’s been such a part of their community for so long.

Jimmy Riordan with Alaska Bookmobile* hooked me. ‘If you can get up here, they’ll find a bed for you and be part of history’. How could I say no?
