The item passed! We’d like to shout out deputy mayor @ausmalik.bsky.social for moving a motion to include her ward in the priority measures!

Next steps is a vote at city council, where we hope that even more of the line will be included.

Riders spoke passionately about how painfully slow service is on this and other streetcar routes, with many bringing up the Streetcar Summit we just held on Sunday. If over 200 people show up to find solutions to our beleaguered network on a weekend, you know there’s a problem with it.

We were at Toronto and East York Community Council speaking in favour of transit priority measures on the Dundas streetcar line! These measure included parking/stopping/left turn restrictions. Not quite priority dedicated lanes but baby steps! We’ll take what we can get.

It's finally happening! We can't wait for the red paint to reach Bloor. And we'll keep fighting until it gets to Wilson.

Special thanks to the thousands of transit riders who wrote in, spoke up, or knocked doors with us this summer to make bus lanes on Dufferin happen!

TTC employee stabbed at Dundas subway station, suspect in custody, police say | CBC News A TTC employee was stabbed and seriously wounded at a downtown subway station on Wednesday and a male is in custody, Toronto police say.

We commonly hear from riders that they don't feel safe waiting at poorly-lit transit stops at night - especially women & gender minorities.

Better lighting at transit stops & more frequent night service reduce the risk of uncomfortable & unsafe situations, keeping riders safe!

This federal government has failed to recognize that transit is a nation-building project. Transit supports a strong economy. Transit supports climate resilience. Transit connects communities and opportunities.

We will continue to pressure federal electeds to fund public transit!

The Carney Government just passed a Federal Budget that cuts the Canada Public Transit Fund, as the TTC faces a $4.3B repair backlog & $232M operations shortfall.

The $3B fund will now be folded into a generalized infrastructure fund, leaving less money on the table for transit riders nationwide 👎

Tell Carney: Protect and expand funding for transit!

It's time for a full public inquiry into the province and metrolinx's disastrous P3 model, and why the Crosstown has been delayed for so long and suffered such massive cost overruns - with the public left in the dark.

Congrats to Montréal where the next phase of their REM metro system opened today! Work started in 2017. Now 50-km of new transit is open for riders! 🎊

Meanwhile, a certain 19-km LRT in Toronto has been under construction since 2011 and there's no opening date in sight... 😤
