This would need a totally rethinking of streetcars vs subways as modes. I imagine psychologically it's acceptable to make subway stop spacing very wide with no local underlay but not for streetcars given the rapid transit vs local service nature.

Hm not sure how I would go about sending something like this. I'm not really aware of that person or their role.

Eliminating more stops on Bathurst and Spadina would widen the walking distance too far. Past 600m in many cases.

I took coach buses from winnipeg to toronto once and that was enough for me. I can't believe he did the whole country.

My Streetcar Stop Consolidation Concept:

- Remove stops without an opposing stop and/or closer than 300m
- Maintain a general maximum spacing of 500m on streets and 600m along ROWs
- Move stops where turns occur to farside for TSP effectiveness
- Consolidate stops for services in the same direction

New Kitchener line weekend train seems to be doing quite well. Large turnout at Guelph Central for the afternoon inbound trip.

Guelph Transit has a nice fare setup even though they not a part of the PRESTO network. For GO transfers, you pay your regular local fare on board the bus and tap at a transfer validator at the station where you get refunded the local fare. Their fares are also capped at 34 rides per month.

BREAKING: The TTC is getting new Line 2 subway trains (55 trains), manufactured right here in Ontario in Thunder Bay. They’re based on Alstom’s Metropolis platform, and look extremely modern. More here: news.ontario.ca/en/release/1...

the funny part about the streetcars is even when they're misbehaving and bunched to shit your still only enduring an 8 min wait due to the sheer number of cars on the line

The official system map is far simplified and doesn't show the branch structure within routes.

Same story with GO transit. The bus network has lots of branches and even showing the structure of one route can be dizzying, never mind a full network map.
