The TSP goes off as soon as the vehicle is ready to depart, no creeping up and waiting (looking at you ION). There are dedicated signals to indicate the route set so drivers dont have to stop and inspect the switch.

The fact that EVs and cabs are permitted in the streetcar lane confused me at first but it doesnt seem to inhibit streetcar operation too much. This just makes me believe Toronto has far too many Ubers and cabs and we need to limit the number permitted.

It's genuinely amazing and infuriating how much faster streetcars can clear intersections with TSP and dual point switches and without stop and inspect and slow orders

Happy Thanksgiving, Toronto. I'm grateful for the TTC and all its hard-working staff delivering transit service which I rarely have to wait more than 5-10 mins for at all hours of the day. Even with all its faults, the TTC delivers one of the most usable transit services in all of North America.

Service that is dependent on Line 5 being open will not change yet, such as Jane route split or Eglinton bus routes merging.

From what I've heard, the TTC has taken this opportunity to phase in the less controversial service changes they proposed. Metrolinx has constructed a temporary bus terminal at Don Valley station while the LRT terminal is being completed, allowing service to be extended or rerouted to "Don Valley"

This is long branch and most of the platform is under construction

Trying to make better use of GTFS-RT alerts at work. Now, when service detours, one alert will mark stops closed so trip planning apps like @transit.app stop sending you to closed stops while a second alert will advise for the entire route. Goal is to reduce confusion during detours.

It's appalling how unproductive LA Metrolink service is. Metrolink carries 21.3k daily riders with 174 round trips. In comparison, West Coast Express does 7.1k daily with only 5 round trips. Metrolink is running 35x as many round trips with only 3x the ridership. LA deserves better for regional rail
