I like the standalone app for ease of devices. Sometimes if I am out I might be on a phone or tablet, and then when I am at home I am on a Firestick or Chromecast. Amazon and Google also occasionally don't see eye to eye (although it has been a while) and can limit what you can easily install.

These players are also 23+, so kind of at the end of being legit prospects, so either they work or don't and can be off the books more quickly

I think teams are willing to burn that first year if it means they get the player (although over a shorter time). I think the players are looking to get into a better place where they have more control and possibly make more money.
