We want as many people as possible to come so the cheapest ticket is only ยฃ5 FOR A WHOLE DAY of content!

You pay what you can afford and all the money goes to Magic Breakfast to feed hungry kids

Even if you can't make it on the day, buying a ticket gets you recordings of the sessions.

An article from a 1970s educational magazine on how to make a Krampus table decoration for children including a truly horrifying black and white illustration of the krampus which is made of prunes

An article from a 1970s educational magazine on how to make a Krampus table decoration for children including a truly horrifying black and white illustration of the krampus which is made of prunes

Forget cheese and pineapple hedgehog, every party needs an edible Krampus. Especially knowing how much children love prunes.

What Is Hookland?

Hookland is England seen from a
ghost train.

It is a fierce refusal to let
psychogeographers tell you that when
you talk about spirits of place you canโ€™t
really believe in them. It is all the books
you borrowed time and time again from the
library as a child โ€“ encyclopedias of horror
films, Usborneโ€™s Worlds of the Unknown UFOs
and Charles Berlitzโ€™s The Bermuda Triangle.

It is walking home through the woods in November mists and feeling that the place had monsters, not the sort they made into Aurora model kits, but old, nameless things that are fed by the fear youโ€™ve had of this place since that murder a few years back. It is the terror of living in a haunted landscape. It is the delight of living in a profoundly haunted landscape. Hookland is the place you can almost allow yourself to believe in magic once again before realising it is a territory you already inhabit. Shared space where all your broken memories of childhood are resuscitated and walking alongside you.

It is knowing all the names of the Russian spacemen orbiting above and feeling the youthful power of recognising which mushrooms are poisonous. Itโ€™s sneaking into fields to release crows from cruel traps and thinking up mad schemes to buy fireworks when the air becomes rich with the intoxicating smell of bonefires. It is being more scared by gaudy movie posters for films you havenโ€™t seen than being afraid of the things your parents constantly warn you about.

It is knowing everywhere is layers of story, layers of memory and realising you may be the ghost for someone elseโ€™s future.

It is French radio stations on AM, full of songs that you hear and instantly love, but will spend the rest of your life trying to remember what the title was, which band it was.

On its jagged rocks, on its scarring brambles, fragments of ripped cloth that you know are clues to something you have forgotten. Something important you just canโ€™t unlock.

It has a default setting of unease and dรฉjร โ€ฆ
