As the caretakers of our nation’s collective history, the staff will continue to serve Congress, the American public & users across the world.

The Register is appointed and supervised by the Librarian of Congress and I would take that to mean only Acting Librarian Robert Newlen has the actual authority. It's maddening how the media glosses over these flagrantly illegal acts.
