Iโm not here to defend Starmer, but the Met is led by a conservative - Mark Rowley.

01.08.2025 04:57 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I bought a death bag of pick and mix (2x1kg bags of basically everything) because I canโt buy it anywhere anymore ๐
But iโm being good and putting them away after having a few. Totally worth it though
And itโs finished now! Iโm very proud of it, we did all of it except for the top soil and the weed membrane.. I hope it looks good next year ๐

It was an unpleasant business, but every four years, Grimace required a blood sacrifice, and well, nobody really much liked Brandon anyway.

I'm fiddling with home assistant again.. I both love it and hate it at the same time. It's so powerful, but gets mental complicated when you try and do something a bit non-standard..
I've got all my energy monitoring working now though..

29.07.2025 17:34 โ ๐ 16 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The thing is, we have answers to it - people just donโt want to hear them.
30.07.2025 19:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Totally agree. Physical controls are excellent and Iโm not a fan of that. But once again thatโs a modern car thing and not an EV thing.
30.07.2025 16:38 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We have two Leafs and that's simply not true. XL tyres have been around for ages (SUVs need them), the Leaf doesn't need them. Once again, it depends on what you buy - like any car.
30.07.2025 14:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0You said: "I paid $300 for a set of tires for my around town people mover 2 years ago and thatโs me beating on them. And over half the tread life left" so clearly you are in this instance. I never said that was a bad thing? We all have budget constraints.
30.07.2025 14:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Depends on what tyres you buy. Thereโs cheap an expensive options, but youโre not comparing the same thing there - new set to a used set.
30.07.2025 14:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Tesla's build quality is not good. They're also just one manufacturer. We've got a 10 year old Leaf that's still going great, never had a major issue in it's life - just usual maintenance costs (tyres, bushings etc)
30.07.2025 13:48 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0yeah we're not at that point yet. Worth saying though that car will want a lot more maintenance and fuel costs, than say an more expensive EV with little on-going costs - but is probably neutral (right now).
30.07.2025 13:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yeah my Polestar had terrible AC, it sacrificed usability for efficiency (as did the sound system) and it was just a sacrifice too far. The IONIQ is a much better car where the ancillary stuff is good, sound system, infotainment etc.
Rear view stuff, yeah that's also a safety thing.
This isn't how the market works, lease is a key vehicle for the used car market - it's literally how the market works.
30.07.2025 13:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That's literally what I said lol
30.07.2025 13:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I handed my Polestar back, because the software experience was appalling and that was the entire interface to the car. They tried turning it into more of a tablet-like experieince, but then people had tablet-like expectations. I've got an IONIQ 5N now that's not android automotive based.. so snappy

30.07.2025 12:43 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0That drive, that makes their vehicles very appliance-like and people become disinterested quickly. So there (should) be a shift away from that and more towards a clear identity and unique value. This is why early-generation EVs haven't held their value.
