Totally agree. Physical controls are excellent and I’m not a fan of that. But once again that’s a modern car thing and not an EV thing.

We have two Leafs and that's simply not true. XL tyres have been around for ages (SUVs need them), the Leaf doesn't need them. Once again, it depends on what you buy - like any car.

Depends on what tyres you buy. There’s cheap an expensive options, but you’re not comparing the same thing there - new set to a used set.

Tesla's build quality is not good. They're also just one manufacturer. We've got a 10 year old Leaf that's still going great, never had a major issue in it's life - just usual maintenance costs (tyres, bushings etc)

yeah we're not at that point yet. Worth saying though that car will want a lot more maintenance and fuel costs, than say an more expensive EV with little on-going costs - but is probably neutral (right now).

Yeah my Polestar had terrible AC, it sacrificed usability for efficiency (as did the sound system) and it was just a sacrifice too far. The IONIQ is a much better car where the ancillary stuff is good, sound system, infotainment etc.

Rear view stuff, yeah that's also a safety thing.

This isn't how the market works, lease is a key vehicle for the used car market - it's literally how the market works.

I handed my Polestar back, because the software experience was appalling and that was the entire interface to the car. They tried turning it into more of a tablet-like experieince, but then people had tablet-like expectations. I've got an IONIQ 5N now that's not android automotive based.. so snappy

I'm on my second, so is my partner - Tesla never considered. Mostly because I didn't like the ultra-minimalist, screen-everything design.. fueled further by Musk..

That drive, that makes their vehicles very appliance-like and people become disinterested quickly. So there (should) be a shift away from that and more towards a clear identity and unique value. This is why early-generation EVs haven't held their value.
