Every time I turn on the Today programme on Radio 4 - you can count on me tuning in to a “conversation on immigration”. This conversation always ends in the presenters asking a politician if we “should have a conversation about immigration”.

This literally newspeak is mind-fumbling frustrating.

Haven’t listened to the Today programme for a while and lucky for me, they invited Nigel Farage on and I had to turn it off.

One under appreciated point in the discussion on welfare is that we live in a very different economy to that of 50 years ago.

Our economy is dominated by service/knowledge industries - sectors it’s particularly hard to work in if you’re neurodiverse or have a chronic mental health condition. 🧵

And this is why the poor are always at such a disadvantage. You have to have money to make money and trying to get out of that cycle of just making ends meet is very, very difficult indeed.

And why, most of presumed, the Labour Party would help.

It seems we were wrong.

On that note, any tips for great rock bars, amazing vegan food and must-hit museums in Tallinn - very welcome!

Went to the supermarket to buy lunch for tomorrow. Headed straight to the salad aisle. Lost the boyfriend. Found him looking at Krispy Kremes. Our relationship summarised, me looking at lettuce, him looking at doughnuts.
