Lofton was 24 when he made his debut. So three years younger. And I’m sorry, but I’ll be this guy, Lofton was a winner. Dude wanted to get in base anyway he could in which led him to walking much more. Ichiro wouldn’t take walks because he was hell bent on getting hits.
